…for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands…

ADMINISTRATOR’S NOTE: Contrary to the stance of the writer of the following article nothing will be done about EMP’S (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) weapons. [readers can find many more articles about EMP’S and HAARP in the “Last Days News” archives here on “A Crooked Path”] They are the “must have” weapon for the U.S., China, and Russia. Man is determined to control the world and that he knows better. Each man, each nation thinking they know better than the other, as at this point the great majority of men, and almost every nation denies God and Scripture.

If people fear nuclear weapons they haven’t seen anything yet. Sure, nukes cause a lot of damage and there’s all that radiation – but EMP’S make nuclear weapons look like a slingshot shooting water balloons compared to an Abrams A-1 tank firing its gun. The earth’s electromagnetic field. Kind of important. Something I feel confident in writing about 98% of people are completely unaware of and clueless about. The electromagnetic field monitors and controls everything. And men have been messing with it for years now, from the HAARP project, to numerous military weapons being developed.

Less than two years ago the Chinese Minister of Defense made a public statement. He said, “China intends on being able to control the earth’s electromagnetic field within 10 years.”

And the technological development is ahead of projections. Aren’t all you WalMart shoppers happy you’ve helped the Communist Chinese in their developing of such weapons? Keep buying all those Chinese products without so much as uttering a peep of dissent to anyone. Just keep filling the treasury of Communist China while further bankrupting America.

But this was and is all to be…we are living in the final moments of the last scene of this earth’s existence. The Lord, Yeshua made very thing, by His hand was everything that is made, and man is now through his evil intent, and making themselves gods, although they are not gods, and in their denial of the One True Living God bringing about the swift demise of everything.

We are seeing, and will continue to see events unfold the likes of which have never been witnessed. The entropy, the decay, the breakdown is accelerating. And there isn’t anything that can be done other than turning to God, turning to Jesus Christ, Yeshua, in faith…turning to the Living Word of God. Behold!

EMP: The Greatest Threat to America, and What We Can Do about It

By JanSuzanne Krasner

American Thinker

It’s bewildering.  Pathetic.  Frightening.  And it seems that the mainstream media avoids talking about it for fear that Americans will panic.  Well, Americans ought to be panicking — anything to get them to bang on Congress’s door and force our representatives to immediately act on the pending legislature now in Congress called the SHIELD Act — a bill based on the previous HR 5026 — that unanimously passed in the House of Representatives on June 9, 2010.

The disaster I am referring to is an electromagnetic pulse (EMP), which can easily be caused either by Mother Nature as a geomagnetic solar storm or by an enemy with a low-cost, short range, ship-launched missile armed with a nuclear warhead.  The national consequences of an EMP destroying our electrical grid are far-reaching, with long-lasting, continent-wide crippling effects to our electricity-dependant infrastructure.

At the press conference organized by EMPactAmerica on September 23, 2011, this dangerous threat to our national security was exposed for what it truly is — the most likely event to happen to the U.S., naturally or man-made, that has the potential to bring the country to its knees.

The National Academy of Science points out that protecting the grid against this threat is critical, and getting a bill passed is necessary to do that.  An EMP, if not deflected, will shut down and paralyze our country.  Just think about the role electricity plays in water, food, heating and cooling, communications, transportation, distribution, the economy and banking.  Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, who made a statement on the floor of the House in support of the HR 5026, told Congress that an EMP attack would create $1-$2 trillion in damages and take four to ten years to recover.  The truth is that within one year we would no longer be a sovereign nation.

The HR 5026 that passed in the House was stalled in the Senate during the lame-duck session.  More recently, Congressman Trent Franks introduced the SHIELD Act, which goes beyond HR 5026 — i.e., requiring an automated protection plan and hardware-based solution to be developed within six months.  EMPactAmerica points out that Americans need to get Congress to focus on this immediately.

The EMPactAmerica conference “Standing Up to Ahmadinehad: Military and National Security Policy Experts Call on President Obama to Confront the Iranian Threat” presented the undeniable fact that the Iranian regime is prepared to use its nuclear weapons in the form of an EMP detonation in the skies 70-100 miles above “the great Satan” and to do so without attribution.  A panel of ten EMP and terrorist experts spoke to an audience of concerned reporters and involved activists with the hope of stimulating awareness, discussion, and action.

The panel was extremely impressive.  Opening remarks came from EMPact’s president, Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, Director of the U.S. Nuclear Strategy Forum.  He pointed out that “we are so vulnerable with this threat because we are unprepared.”  Therefore, “it is not acceptable for Iran to be allowed to build nuclear weapons.”

Lt. General Thomas McInerny, retired Air Force and member of the Iran Policy Committee, advised that we must have a strategy to hold nations accountable that sponsor or allow terrorists to live in their nation and deter them from doing so.  He confirmed that Iran is at the heart of most attacks through proxies like Hezbollah, Hamas, al-Qaeda, and others.  “The Iranian regime likes to keep their ‘fingerprints off’ while spreading propaganda, money and weapons to others ready to do the killing and dying for them.”  Brigadier General Kenneth Chrosniak, retired, U.S. Army War College, Bronze Star recipient, added to the discussion that “we must plan for the worst-case situation, and we are not being told about the worst threat in the forefront of America.”

Sitting next to Kenneth Chrosniak was a masked man with several bodyguards.  He announced his name: Reza Kahlili, the well-known ex-CIA spy from the Revolutionary Guards of Iran.  Reza Kahlili is presently an instructor at the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy of the Department of Defense, and he is the author of A Time to Betray.  The audience cheered.  Mr. Kahlili clearly stated that “Americans do not understand the ideology of the radicals in Iran who want to conquer the world[.]  They are an existential threat to Israel, America, and the world … they see the weakness of America as a symbol of Allah empowering them with nuclear capabilities[.] … [W]e must support the Iranians people fighting for freedom through regime change … this will halt the Iranian threat to Western civilization.”

Ken Timmerman, CEO of Foundation for Democracy of Iran and author of Countdown to Crisis: The Coming Iranian Nuclear Showdown, spoke passionately about the total ineffectiveness of sanctions against Iran because they are not enforced.  Lieutenant Col. Tony Shaffer, retired, U.S. Army, Bronze Star recipient, and Senior Intelligence Officer in the Defense Intelligence Agency, spoke out about “not being able to stop 9/11, but committed to stopping this threat.”  An EMP will be Iran’s best way to “economically destroy our way of life by taking out large portions of our infrastructure.”

As if these spokespeople weren’t enough to convince anyone of the importance of the SHIELD Act, there were four more panelists that added further convincing arguments.  Claire Lopez, strategic policy and intelligence expert on national defense, Islam, Iran, and counterterrorism issues, explained that Islamic ideology as written in the Koran drives the Iranian regime to create “proxy” terrorists in other countries, including bases in Venezuela, and weapons-smuggling in Mexico, along with supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.  “Iran prefers proxies, and they are united with the same sharia ideology.”  Chet Nagel, former CIA officer, author of Iran Covenant, suggested that “[t]he military solution is to use EMP against Iran, but with President Obama it will be unthinkable.”  Therefore, “make the 2012 election count in America’s interest.”

We also heard from Tim Brown, a retired, twenty-year decorated FDNY firefighter, 9/11 survivor, and first responder to the WTC attack in 1993 and to the 1995 attack on the Federal Building in Oklahoma City.  He emphasized that there “is no excuse for us to be so vulnerable.  The cost of transformers to protect the grid is inconsequential and would give us a fighting chance.”

Peter Huessy, President of GeoStrategic Analysis of Potomac, Maryland, a defense and national security consulting firm, presented the cost for a “grid insurance’ system that is being tested this month and will be ready to go shortly after.  The numbers are relatively low in the face of the astronomical losses an EMP attack would deliver to the US.”  About $60 million to protect the three hundred largest transformers immediately, and $400-$600 million to additionally protect three thousand others.  These are one-time costs for equipment that bolts down, plugs in, and immediately works to protect against all forms of electromagnetic storms and nuclear EMP effects as well.”

All I can say after listening to this panel is that the Obama administration would be much wiser to invest American taxpayer dollars in our national security than it is having issued loans to Solyndra for solar panels!  With such a simple solution possible, it is unimaginable that the grave threat of an EMP in America is not being talked about in every news medium, not to mention how the public should be demanding that the SHIELD Act be passed immediately.

Dr. Pry summed up the conference with three concepts he feels are necessary for our national security strategy — “Missile Defense, Iranian Regime Change, and Military Actions” — and then ended with the slogan of EMPactAmerica: “Prepare.  Protect.  Recover.”  So, Americans, let’s make our voices heard by demanding that our government protect us by insuring the grid!

New home sales fall: Recovery years away

Rick Moran

American Thinker

It might have been unexpected but nobody is bothering to notice any more.

New home sales sank 2.3% in August – a six month low. The median price fell 9%. As the Washington Post notes, this means that recovery is almost certainly years away.

The Commerce Department said Monday that new-home sales fell 2.3 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 295,000. That’s less than half the roughly 700,000 that economists say must be sold to sustain a healthy housing market.

New-homes sales are on pace for the worst year since the government began keeping records a half century ago.

High unemployment, larger required down payments and tougher lending standards are preventing many people from buying homes. Plunging stocks and a growing fear that the U.S. could tip back into another recession are also keeping people from entering the housing market.

Pierre Ellis, an analyst at Decision Economics, said that until wages increase and hiring picks up, home sales will languish.

The “bad news is the evident absence of optimism that sales will pick up to any degree,” Ellis said.

And here’s a little something to cheer you up:

Home prices have dropped more since the recession started, on a percentage basis, than during the Great Depression of the 1930s. It took 19 years for prices to fully recover after the Depression.

No bottom in sight yet.

I knew I had that € 2 Trillion sitting around here somewhere

Matt Holzmann

American Thinker

So now the ante for saving the Euro has risen to € 2 trillion ( $2.72 Trillion). As part of the proposed plan, Greece’s debtors, primarily the French and German banks, will take a 50% haircut and be recapitalized. Remember, these are the same banks who benefited from the TARP bailout over here in 2007/2008. So now their reckless gambles will have cost the global economy, which is in the end you, me, Stavros,  Jean Claude, and Anneka over $3.7 Trillion.

Grand Total 4,439.60 100.00% 4,413.80 100.00%

Now let’s put that number in perspective. China’s holdings of U.S. debt is around $1.1 trillion, followed by Japan at $800 billion. I feel much better already not using the “T’ word. So, one might wonder where one might find € 2 Trillion ($2.72 trillion). Well, since the United States, the historical lender of last resort is broke and Germany’s national GDP , by far the largest in the Eurozone, is only $3.3 Trillion I am not sure where the money will come from.

The Greek debt is only @$350 Billion, so what’s to worry? The problem is that this insolvency is likely to spread across Europe, starting in Spain and Italy.

The really crazy part of the plan is that the cash available for the fund would “only” be $450 Billion or so, but then governments and the ECB could borrow against this. Paging Mr. Ponzi.

Everyone wants the Euro Zone leaders to take rapid action, but as can be seen, this is going to take a miracle. On top of this, the parliaments of all 17 Euro Zone countries must approve a July 21 agreement to expand the bailout fund. None of the governments have yet placed the bill on their legislative agendas. In the interim the ECB is buying Spanish and Italian bonds, which if the crisis escalates will decrease significantly in value causing further escalation of the crisis.

We are running headlong into a buzz saw of inflation and deflation. Governments will soon be asking “what number comes after a Trillion?” as they recycle cash to keep the banks afloat. Governments may be forced to run the printing presses until the bearings burn out, and yet all of that liquidity will vanish as it is sucked up by the bottomless pit of debt. And so governments will become so much further indebted that they will cease to be able to obtain credit. Sooner, rather than later, the game of musical chairs ends.

Despotism Breeds Federal Paranoia

By Hugh de Payns

American Thinker

Any environment where secrecy and social and political control are the operating parameters can breed paranoia.  Mere intellectual curiosity can be seen dangerous and treasonous.  It does not have to be the extreme behavior of the Khmer Rouge of Cambodia or the angry jealousy of Soviet Russia.

During the summer of 2009, we saw this with the White House healthcare “snitch site” (flag@whitehouse.gov) where citizens were encouraged to turn in information — or people — who were reporting “lies” about ObamaCare. Eventually — largely due to public outcry and immense amount of deliberately false and frankly riotous commentary rammed into the site — it was pulled down.  To date there is not a general feeling of comfort about what the government has done with the data that was presented to them.

Not learning from their earlier mistake, recently Team Obama launched attackwatch.com.  If you follow the link, you will notice the address is “my.barackobama.com.”  How touching, how personal, and how very, very creepy.  It quickly became a laughingstock, derided even by the Washington Post.  So far the result seems to be more embarrassing exposure, leading to a truck load of deliberately false information being sent into the site.  I have reported several attacks, mostly involving rumors being spread by animals during a trip to the zoo.  Strangely, each time I report a rumor, I get directed to a donation screen and a paid for by Obama for America logo.  It seems that they value the information a whole lot less than my money, which I will not give up freely.

Such Orwellian conduct has now reached the Federal Reserve.  This past weekend, Zerohedge.com reported that the Fed now wants to get in on the big brother act and listen in on what is being said.  Yet, instead of asking for information that might lead them to being labeled as paranoid Nazis, the Federal Reserve will now be casting a large net and actively start trolling for troublemakers.  Of course, about 60 minutes spent searching for news and commentary on the Federal Reserve would also be effective, but apparently The Bernank is just too lazy or too busy spending our money to take the time.  According to Zerohedge:

Said otherwise, the Fed has just entered the counterespionage era and will be monitoring everything written about it anywhere in the world. After all, why ask others to snitch for you and anger everyone as Obama found out the hard way, when you can pay others to create the supreme FIATtack WatchTM using money you yourself can print in unlimited amounts. And once the Internet is completely “transparent”, the Fed will next focus on telephone conversations, and finally will simply bug each and every otherwise “private” location in the world. Because very soon saying that “printing money is treason” will be treason, and such terrorist thoughts must be pre-crimed before they even occur…

All we can say is we welcome our new Chairsatan Voldemort overlord. For it is truly he who must not be named henceforth.

Beyond Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and Rick Perry, a growing number of other conservative public figures are beginning to not only raise question about the practices of the Federal Reserve, but also its very legitimacy.  A program like this erodes even further our trust in the Federal Reserve.

The recent FOIA requests by Bloomberg finally uncovered the staggering amount of American taxpayer money that was spent by the Federal Reserve — in secret mind you — during 2008-2009.  Basically, the Fed spent 1.2 trillion taxpayer dollars with no accountability, no oversight, and no vote by elected representatives.

Such behaviors are entirely outside of the American experience and do not fit with the worldview of a large majority of our citizens.  Yet, our Congress allows this to happen.  Why?  Just who is in charge here?

If this activity bothers you, it should.  If it does not, I suggest a thorough reading of history until you make the connections and then you too can begin to become unsettled.  Then, kindly call your elected representatives.  A helpful link to do so is attached here. This monitoring program by the Federal Reserve needs to be snuffed out quickly.

What we are seeing now is nothing but naked paranoia by the administration and the banking cartel.  A cartel that is entirely unaccountable to the legislative process, and is now running our currency — and our sovereignty — into the ground.

Having lost the messaging, having lost the narrative, having lost some of their secrecy, and now having lost the confidence of our citizens, these malignant forces are left with the only tool available: fear.

And from the “people of peace”…

Egypt uncovers Libyan SA-24 anti-air missiles and sea
mines bound for Gaza

DEBKAfileExclusive Report September 26, 2011, 2:14 PM (GMT+02:00)

SA-24 infrared missile from Libya to Gaza

Helped by highly sophisticated contraband weapons smuggled out of Libya, Iran and Hizballah are getting the Palestinian Hamas equipped for another round of hostilities with Israel. debkafile’s military sources report that Sunday, Sept. 25, Egyptian security forces, acting on information from a Western intelligence source, homed in near Ismailia on a large half-empty buried cache of advanced SA-24 anti-air infrared missiles (a version of the US Stinger) stored there en route from Libya
to Gaza.
The information came too late to block delivery; most of the crates were found empty of their contents of missiles and other military equipment which must already be on their way to Sinai or Gaza. Some of the empty containers were found to have contained Russian-made MDM-3 sea mines, of the type Muammar Qaddafi scattered around Libyan ports in May to keep NATO vessels at bay.

Our North African sources report that many of Qaddafi’s weapons stores were seized by the rebels and their contents sold by some of the officers to the highest bidders.
Tripoli today is under the sway of several rival militias belonging to the rebel National Transitional Council. An oversight committee of American, British, French and Italian delegates is trying to track down the advanced weaponry which the rebels seized during the NATO-led advance into the capital on Aug. 21. They have been questioning the Libyan rebel officers placed in charge of the arms stores and Libyan weapons dealers for information.

The CIA agents on the committee are aware that Hizballah and Hamas purchasing missions armed with Iranian petrodollars established a presence some months ago in Benghazi, seat of the NTC which has not yet moved to Tripoli. Those agents elude discovery in the mayhem prevailing in rebel ranks and may be hiding in one of the rebel commands operating outside Benghazi.
But the NATO commission has managed to find out roughly what happens to the smuggled arms after they are spirited out of Tripoli, debkafile’s counter-terror sources report. Some are bound for southern Libya and Niger, where Qaddafi loyalists holed up in the Sahel desert on the fringes of the Sahara take delivery: The second destination is Algeria for Al Qaeda in the Maghreb; and the third is the Gaza Strip through Egypt and Sinai.

The introduction of sophisticated anti-air infrared missiles and sea mines into areas abutting on Israel’s land and sea borders has given its army chiefs and strategists a serious headache. The SA-24s would give the Hamas an anti-air capability on a par with that of the Hizballah and consists three elements:
–  The SA-24s which are portable air defense missiles with a range of 5.2 kilometers, an operational ceiling of 3.5 kilometers and Mach 2.3 speed.

Depending mainly on visual scanning, they can also be fired at night and are effective against fighter planes, armored helicopters, drones and diverse surface-to surface missiles, including cruise missiles.
– SA-14 (Strela-3) has a small and very precise solid propellant guided missile as well as an improved system for overcoming countermeasures. Its range is 4.5 kilometers and
operational ceiling 3 kilometers.

– The SA-7 (Strela-2) has a 3.6 kilometer range, operational ceiling from 15 meters to 1.5 kilometers and Mach 1.75.

Hamas is therefore armed with weapons capable of attacking high-, medium- and low-flying objects, including planes, helicopters and drones over and outside the Gaza Strip in southwest Israel including the port towns of Ashdod and Ashkelon.

Sea mines if Hamas can sow them in eastern Mediterranean waters would severely impair the Israeli and Egyptian navies’ freedom of navigation. There is the
additional danger of mines drifting ashore.
Our military sources report that Iran, Hizballah and Hamas employ experts with specialist knowledge of deep Mediterranean currents. They use them for Iranian freighters to skirt Israel’s naval blockade against the Gaza Strip and throw arms consignments overboard for Hizballah and Hamas to be carried ashore by currents.

Both radical terrorist groups are now in possession of  a stock of Libyan sea mines which can be used with the help of these experts for striking precise locations on the Israeli coast..

Sun delivers glancing solar storm blast at Earth

By Dan Vergano, USA TODAY

Warming up on its solar cycle, the sun uncorked a a strong solar storm that reached Earth on Monday, federal scientists said, posing a threat to satellites and radio communications, although no interruptions had been reported to date.

Solar X-ray image of the sun’s blast from the GOES mission.

The “G3”-class geomagnetic storm (G-1 is minor, G-5 is extreme) resulted from a Saturday solar outburst that delivered a glancing blow to Earth’s magnetic field, according to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration analysis. “The spot on the sun that produced Saturday’s coronal mass ejection remains active and is well positioned to deliver more storm activity in the next several days,” according to a NOAA statement.

“That region is pretty feisty, and the odds of us getting more flares from those spots are pretty good,” said astronomer Phil Plait, on his Bad Astronomy website.

The solar storm might also trigger auroras, or Northern Lights, over northern Europe and Russia.

The Federal Reserve Plans To Identify “Key Bloggers” And Monitor Billions Of
Conversations About The Fed On Facebook, Twitter, Forums And Blogs

Reprinted from The Economic Collapse website

The Federal Reserve wants to know what you are saying about it.  In fact, the Federal Reserve has announced plans to identify “key bloggers” and to monitor “billions of conversations” about the Fed on Facebook, Twitter, forums and blogs.  This is yet another sign that the alternative media is having a dramatic impact.  As first reported on Zero Hedge, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has issued a “Request for Proposal” to suppliers who may be interested in participating in the development of a “Sentiment Analysis And Social Media Monitoring Solution”.  In other words, the Federal Reserve wants to develop a highly sophisticated system that will gather everything that you and I say about the Federal Reserve on the Internet and that will analyze what our feelings about the Fed are.  Obviously, any “positive” feelings about the Fed would not be a problem.  What they really want to do is to gather information on everyone that views the Federal Reserve negatively.  It is unclear how they plan to use this information once they have it, but considering how many alternative media sources have been shut down lately, this is obviously a very troubling sign.

You can read this “Request for Proposal” right here.  Posted below are some of the key quotes from the document (in bold) with some of my own commentary in between the quotes….

“The intent is to establish a fair and equitable partnership with a market leader who will who gather data from various social media outlets and
news sources and provide applicable reporting to FRBNY. This Request for Proposal (“RFP”) was created in an effort to support FRBNY’s Social Media
Listening Platforms initiative.”

A system like this is not cheap.  Apparently the Federal Reserve Bank of New York believes that gathering all of this information is very important.  In recent years, criticism of the Federal Reserve has become very intense, and most of this criticism has been coming from the Internet.  It has gotten to the point where the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has decided that it had better listen to what is being said and find out who is saying it.

“Social media listening platforms are solutions that gather data from various social media outlets and news sources.  They monitor billions of
conversations and generate text analytics based on predefined criteria.  They can also determine the sentiment of a speaker or writer with respect to some topic or document.”

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York intends to listen in on “billions of conversations” and to actually determine the “sentiment” of those that are participating in those conversations.

Of course it will be those conversations that are “negative” about the Federal Reserve that will be setting off the alarm bells.

“Identify and reach out to key bloggers and influencers”

Uh oh.  So they plan to “identify” key bloggers and influencers?

What exactly do they plan to do once they “identify” them?

“The solution must be able to gather data from the primary social media platforms –Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Forums and YouTube.”

Hopefully you understand this already, but nothing posted on the Internet is ever anonymous.  Everything on the Internet is gathered by a vast host of organizations and is used for a wide variety of purposes.  Data mining has become a billion dollar industry, and it is only going to keep growing.

You may think that you are “anonymous” when you criticize organizations like the Fed, but the truth is that if you are loud enough they will see it and they will make a record of it.

“The solution must provide real-time monitoring of relevant conversations.  It should provide sentiment analysis (positive, negative or neutral) around key conversational topics.”

Why do they need to perform “sentiment analysis”?

If someone is identified as being overly “negative” about the Fed, what will they do about it?

“The solution should provide an alerting mechanism that automatically sends out reports or notifications based a predefined trigger.”

This sounds very much like the kind of “keyword” intelligence gathering systems that are currently in use by major governments around the globe.

Very, very creepy stuff.

Are you disturbed yet?

For those of us that write about the Federal Reserve a lot, this is very sobering news.

I wonder what the Fed will think about the following articles that I have posted on this site….

*Unelected, Unaccountable, Unrepentant: The Federal Reserve Is Using Your Money To Bail Out European Commercial Banks Once Again

*Celebrating Independence Yet Enslaved To Debt

*19 Reasons Why The Federal Reserve Is At The Heart Of Our Economic Problems

*Is Ben Bernanke A Liar, A Lunatic Or Is He Just Completely And Totally Incompetent?

*10 Things That Would Be Different If The Federal Reserve Had Never Been Created

What is their “Social Media Monitoring Solution” going to think about those articles?

Unfortunately, this is all part of a very disturbing trend.

Recently, a very creepy website known as “Attack Watch” was launched to gather information on those saying “negative” things about Barack Obama.

Suddenly, everyone seems obsessed with what you and I are saying.

This just shows how the power of the alternative media is growing.

Not only that, but it seems as though the government also wants to gather as much information on all of us as possible.

For example, a new rule is being proposed by the Department of Health and Human Services that would force health insurance companies to submit detailed health care information about all of their customers to the federal government.

Every single day our privacy is being stripped away a little bit more.

But now it is often not just enough for them to know what we are doing and saying.  Instead, the “authorities” are increasingly stepping in to silence important voices.

One of the most recent examples of this was when Activistpost was taken down by Google.  We are still awaiting word on why this was done.

Sadly, the silencing of Activistpost is far from an isolated incident.

Hordes of YouTube accounts have been shut down for their political viewpoints.

Quite a few very prominent alternative media websites have been censored or attacked because of what they stand for.

So why is this happening?  Well, it turns out that the power of the alternative media is growing.  According to a new survey by the Pew Research Center for The People & The Press, 43 percent of Americans say that they get their news on national and international issues from the Internet.  Back in 1999, that figure was sitting at just 6 percent.

The American people are sick and tired of getting “canned news”, and they are increasingly turning to the Internet in a search for the truth.

As I have written about previously, the mainstream media in this country is overwhelmingly dominated by just 6 very powerful corporations….

Today, ownership of the news media has been concentrated in the hands of just six incredibly powerful media corporations.  These corporate
behemoths control most of what we watch, hear and read every single day.  They own television networks, cable channels, movie studios, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, music labels and even many of our favorite websites. Sadly, most Americans don’t even stop to think about who is feeding them the endless hours of news and entertainment that they constantly ingest.  Most Americans don’t really seem to care about who owns the media.  But they should.  The truth is that each of us is deeply influenced by the messages that are constantly being pounded into our heads by the mainstream media.  The
average American watches 153 hours of television a month.  In fact, most Americans begin to feel physically uncomfortable if they go too long without watching or listening to something.  Sadly, most Americans have become absolutely addicted to news and entertainment and the ownership of all that news and entertainment that we crave is being concentrated in fewer and fewer hands each year.

The “news” that we get from various mainstream sources seems to always be so similar.  It is as if nearly all mainstream news organizations are reading from the same script.  The American people know that they are not getting the whole truth and they have been increasingly looking to alternative sources.

The monopoly over the news that the mainstream media once possessed has been broken.  The alternative media is now creating some huge problems for organizations that were once very closely protected by the mainstream media.

The American people are starting to wake up and they are starting to get very upset about a lot of the corruption that has been going on in our society.

But it turns out that the “authorities” don’t like it too much when Americans try to actually exercise free speech in America today.  For example, you can see recent video of female protesters in New York City being penned in by police and then brutally maced right here.

Are you sickened by that?

You should be.

What the “authorities” want is for us to shut up, sit in our homes and act as if nothing wrong is happening.

Meanwhile, they seem determined to watch us more closely than ever.

So are you going to be afraid to talk negatively about the Federal Reserve now that you know that they are going to be watching what you say on the Internet?

Please feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts below….

BBC turns its back on year of Our Lord: 2,000 years of Christianity
jettisoned for politically correct ‘Common Era’

By Chris Hastings

The BBC has been accused of ‘absurd political correctness’ after dropping the terms BC and AD in case they offend non-Christians.

The Corporation has replaced the familiar Anno Domini (the year of Our Lord) and Before Christ with the obscure terms Common Era and Before Common Era.

Some of the BBC’s most popular programmes including University Challenge, presented by Jeremy Paxman, and Radio 4’s In Our Time, hosted by Melvyn Bragg, are among the growing number of shows using the new descriptions.

The BBC’s religious and ethics department says the changes are necessary to avoid offending non-Christians.

It states: ‘As the BBC is committed to impartiality it is appropriate that we use terms that do not offend or alienate non-Christians.

In line with modern practice, BCE/CE (Before Common Era/Common Era) are used as a religiously neutral alternative to BC/AD.’

But the move has angered Christians, mystified other faith leaders and been branded unnecessary by the Plain English Campaign. Critics say the new terms are meaningless because, just like AD and BC, they still denote years in relation to the life of Christ.

End of an era: The website for BBC Religion and Ethics, headed by commissioning editor Aaqil Ahmed, who is a Muslim, is littered with references to Common Era and Before Common EraThe website for BBC Religion and Ethics, headed by commissioning editor Aaqil Ahmed, who is a Muslim, is littered with references to Common Era and Before Common Era

Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, the former Bishop of Rochester, said: ‘I think this amounts to the dumbing down of the Christian basis of our culture, language and history. These changes are unnecessary and they don’t achieve what the BBC wants them to achieve.

‘Whether you use Common Era or Anno Domini, the date is actually still the same and the reference point is still the birth of Christ.’

Marie Clair of the Plain English Campaign said: ‘As with most politically correct innovations, I am sure this was done with the best of intentions. But it is difficult to see what the point of the changes are if people do not understand the new terms. It sounds like change just for the sake of change.’

The website for BBC Religion and Ethics, headed by commissioning editor Aaqil Ahmed, who is a Muslim, is littered with references to Common Era and Before Common Era.

However, the BBC bizarrely insists the bbc.co.uk/religion website has nothing to do with Mr Ahmed and is actually the responsibility of BBC Learning.

The terms are not confined to religious output and have also been used in news bulletins. Some reports add to the confusion by switching between both terms in the same item.

A report on historic monuments in Jerusalem, for instance, informed viewers that Temple Mount, a shrine which is sacred to both Jews, was built in ’70 AD (the Common Era)’; while a recent report on frankincense quoted one reference to 7000 BC before describing another event as taking place in the 1st Century BCE.

The BBC’s Learning and GCSE Bitesize websites, which are aimed at schoolchildren, also use the terms.

The Learning website advises that ‘BCE/CE is now more acceptable to a greater number of faiths and religions’.

This is absurd political correctness and these new terms do not mean anything to anyone. I think it’s an example of the BBC trying to undermine Christianity by pushing an aggressive secularism. Rev Peter Mullen

One of the BBC’s study guides highlights Greek philosopher Demokritos, whose dates are given as 460-370 BCE, while a section on GCSE Bitesize on American playwright Arthur Miller says that the first tragedies were written by the Greeks in the 5th Century BCE.

Similarly, a section about the rules of Hindu warfare refers to 3000 BCE.

A Radio 3 profile of Confucius, the Chinese philosopher, stated he lived from 551 BCE to 479 BCE.

BBC presenters and producers have used the phrase in their online blogs. Last year, Northern Ireland correspondent William Crawley referred to the construction of the Temple of Solomon in about 950 BCE.

Earlier this year, Stephen Marsh, producer of the upcoming 23 Degrees science programme, used a reference to 250 BCE in an item on the summer solstice.

Often viewers have no idea why presenters, contributors and guests are using the new terms.

In an edition of In Our Time broadcast in March, one contributor made several references to the Common Era in a discussion on sacred Hindu texts. Melvyn Bragg did not feel the need to clarify it.

This is not the first time the BBC has caused controversy over its use of alien language to promote a politically correct, Europhile agenda.

Its increasing reliance on metric measurements rather than the imperial system and its occasional reference to expenditure in terms of euros rather than pounds has infuriated many viewers.

Several prominent Christians last night blasted the Corporation for sidelining Christianity.

The Rev Peter Mullen, Anglican chaplain to the London Stock Exchange, said: ‘This is absurd political correctness and these new terms do not mean anything to anyone.

‘I think it’s an example of the BBC trying to undermine Christianity by pushing an aggressive secularism.

‘I would be very surprised if any other faith had complained about the use of Anno Domini and Before Christ.’

Ann Widdecombe, the Catholic former Tory Minister, said: ‘I think what the BBC is doing is offensive to Christians. They are discarding terms that have been around for centuries and are well understood by everyone.

‘What are they going to do next? Get rid of the entire calendar on the basis that it has its roots in Christianity?’ A spokesman for the Church of England said that although both terms were common, BC and AD ‘more clearly reflect Britain’s Christian heritage’.

Traditional: Presenter John Humphrys will continue to use BC and AD Traditional: Presenter John Humphrys will continue to use BC and AD

Several of the BBC’s most well-known presenters said they saw no problem with the established system of AD and BC.

John Humphrys, who presents Radio 4’s Today programme and TV’s Mastermind, said: ‘I will continue to use AD and BC because I don’t see a problem.

‘They are terms which most people use and are clearly understood.’ Historian Simon Schama, who has presented several programmes for the BBC, said: ‘As a Jew I don’t have any problems with AD or BC. But CE and BCE are used frequently in Jewish circles.

‘I have been familiar with them since the Fifties, so it’s not like the BBC have just made them up.’

Other faith leaders were divided on the move.

Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, of the Muslim Institute, said: ‘I don’t know anyone who has been offended by AD and BC, so why change them?’

But Rabbi Jonathan Romain, from Maidenhead Synagogue, said he could see the logic behind the change.

He said: ‘ “In the year of Our Lord” is a religious view that is not shared by many across the world, or even the UK. The change to BCE and CE is simply more inclusive.’

The BBC said last night: ‘The BBC has not issued editorial guidance on the date systems.

‘Both AD and BC, and CE and BCE are widely accepted date systems and the decision on which term to use lies with individual production and editorial teams.’

Pro-Homosexual Activists Using ‘Misinformation’ to Target Christian Nonprofits?

By Luiza Oleszczuk | Christian Post Contributor

A charity-based online marketer has been facing increased attacks over its alleged “anti-gay” stance, with critics pressuring its partners, including Apple, Microsoft, Netflix and Wal-Mart, to cease doing business with the group. Focus on the Family, which uses the charity service, insists the pro-gay campaign is based on misinformation spread by those who oppose a traditional view of marriage.

One of the main gay activists fighting the big companies related to alleged pro-Christian, anti-gay organizations, Roy Steele, said he has personally convinced over 160 stores to drop their relationship with online marketer Charity Giveback Group (CGBG).

“I’m a Christian and I object to the views of these organizations,” Steele told The Christian Post Monday. “I have a problem with people who wrap themselves in Scripture. That’s not the same Scripture I know.”

The issue emerged in July after it was discovered that big e-commerce companies, as well as other corporations like Target, Sears, Home Depot, Dell Computer, Lord & Taylor and PC Express, were using CGBG’s services.

CGBG offers to attract customers to the big online stores in exchange for a commission. Users are allowed to send half of that commission to any charity listed on CGBG’s website.

Critics claim nonprofit organizations such as the Family Research Council (FRC) and Focus on the Family, which are among the listed charities on CGBG’s website, are anti-gay, which also makes the corporations anti-gay.

The stores faced scrutiny from gay rights advocates immediately after the issue emerged.

Steele, a Christian gay activist, called for a boycott on his blog on  Aug. 1.

“As a gay Christian man, it offends me that these retail stores are donating money to organizations that promote hatred toward the LGBT community,” he wrote in a statement at the time.

“There are these organizations that call themselves Christian, but they have nothing to do with Christianity,” he later told CP. “Their behavior is, I believe, very un-Christian.”

After Steele launched his campaign, the FRC launched a counter-boycott, which the council calls “Christians/Consumers Against Retail Discrimination.”

“In recent weeks, online political activists have engaged in a misinformation campaign that bullies retailers into discriminating against customers and charities based on their religious beliefs,” reads FRC’s statement, “specifically the traditional and biblical view of marriage as the union of one man and one woman.”

The organization accused the activists of targeting CGBG, “a charity support group with a mission and partner network that includes more than 170,000 charities representing a range of religious, non-religious, educational and other groups,” which helps users support their favorite charities by shopping on the Web.

FRC added that online activists have opposed a traditional and biblical view of marriage and are pressuring retailers to end their participation with CGBG.

Some observers have claimed the conflict between CGBG and pro-gay groups is the beginning of a “culture war.”

The New York Times has compared the issue to a cultural crash with “angry gay-rights advocates and bloggers, wielding the club of the gay community’s purchasing power,” on the one side and “conservative Christian groups that say they are being attacked for their legitimate biblical views of sex and marriage” on the other.

The pettion launched in July not only prompted Apple to cut ties with CBGB, but several other companies, including Macy’s and Microsoft, to do the same.

Unborn, Handicapped, Elderly: Life Unworthy of Life?

By Lillian Kwon | Christian Post Reporter

ASHBURN, Va. – “Life unworthy of life” is a doctrine the Nazis used to kill millions of Jews, among others. But rather than dying with Nazism, that very idea continues to live on today, except this time it is being used against the unborn.

“Today, the idea of Lebensunwertes Leben (life unworthy of life) is not dressed in the language of German racism or creating a master race or improving the gene pool; it comes in a different garb,” said Dr. Robert George, McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University.

“The new language that dresses up eugenics is a language of choice, autonomy, liberty, personal fulfillment, controlling my own body.”

The inherent and equal dignity of each and every member of the human family is the most foundational principle in western civilization, George laid out while speaking at the launch of the “Doing the Right Thing” movement in Ashburn, Va., on Saturday.

Yet nearly 40 years after the Supreme Court legalized abortion, America is suffering “a profound erosion of faith when it comes to this most basic of principles.”

Abortion has been made more palatable and more reasonable with such terms as “choice” but it’s simply new language “dressing up old evil,” George asserted.

The Supreme Court’s decision in the 1973 case of Roe v. Wade to allow abortion was essentially a “profound intellectual and moral error … written into law,” the prominent conservative Christian described.

There have been more than 52 million abortions since 1973, according to the National Right to Life.

Del Tackett of The Truth Project noted during Saturday’s event that though it is now law, it doesn’t make killing the unborn right.

But it’s not only the unborn who are being deemed unworthy of life. The handicapped and the elderly are victims as well, George pointed out.

“There are those who believe ‘well, not everyone was created equal. We can treat people as more or less equal on the basis of age or size or stage of development or condition of dependency,'” he explained.

He reminded the thousands who were watching live via webcast that the idea of life unworthy of life began in a democracy, not under a Nazi dictatorship.

He also highlighted that Nazis began their life unworthy of life campaign with the handicapped.

“It began with the killing of the handicapped. Let that be a lesson to us,” he warned as America witnesses a majority of children with Down syndrome being aborted and many handicapped and dependent persons being euthanized.

“So few people raised their voices,” George said, challenging Americans not to let silence rule again in the 21st century.

“It’s time for the silence to end,” he underscored. “It’s our responsibility … to remind people that it’s the same evil dressed in a new language.”

The sanctity of human life is an issue that needs to be given priority, he stressed.

“If we fail on that one, we’re going to have no intelligible justification for being concerned about anything else, whether it’s the environment, whether it’s poverty …,” George told The Christian Post.

The Doing the Right Thing movement is being spearheaded by Chuck Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship. The grassroots movement was launched Saturday with the hope of igniting an ethical revolution amid what Colson described as a complete moral breakdown in America.
