Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all nderstanding. shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Too many extremes not enough thought. Far too much worry. Especially among those professing belief in God, Jesus Christ the Lord, and in God’s Word.
Moderation: from the Gerek:
Used only in one verse in God’s Word as in the King James Version.
In EVERY THING by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God.
Sadly, not only do few go to God and attempt to rise up to a higher, greater spiritual level than to bring God down to the base level of man, but in our times these requests are frequently self-centered and worldly motivated. I doubt seriously the Apostle Paul was advising, through the Holy Spirit working in him, that we should concentrate on worldly requests, or make those our focus and bulk of our coming before God in prayer. And if there is doubt or contention then all one need to do is finish reading those few verses in Philippians.
So few really think. So few really pay attention to words. So few really ever step out of their own shadow which they believe is the light of the world, the reason everything was created, and what they are doing is the most important tasks, jobs, endeavors on this earth to actually look around. Actually think. Actually act after thinking and prayer and contemplation. Too many speak God’s will themselves into their own minds and hearts because they can’t truly believe, truly commit, truly have the required faith, truly sacrifice if need be.
Especially in the very comfortable industrialized nations of this cesspool world going madder by the minute, sucking professed believers and unbelievers alike into the deadly drowning vortex of darkness.
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
I Thessalonians 2:12
If we have heard and answered the call it is not up to us as to when to hang up, or how the conversation should be directed. Not if we in our very minute and limited understanding have any understanding of the great glory of the One True Living God! That ye would walk worthy. Not sit idle. Not go backwards. Not recline. Not go in circles. Walk straight and walk worthy. Not according to man’s ideas and words, but according to God who has called those professing belief to direct ourselves to His kingdom and glory – and that kingdom is to come, and it is not of this earth as many false teachings are sucking millions more down the dark vortex would have one believe. Remember, Satan is a master of confusion. A master of cunning and beguiling beauty. In words especially. Most, even professed believers, attempt to take on the enemy themselves, thinking they can outwit and out master the prince of this earth. They only end up upon the heap. We have no real strength without God hands and wings upon us providing strength. We are nothing but dust. Mud pies with eyes. No match for the evil one on our own.
And if we think upon that which is true, that which is honest, that which is just…we would know that before ever venturing away from the Shepherd in need of being reproved and rescued with His rod and His staff.
Think. Think before acting.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
