Verses for Today

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all nderstanding. shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:5-8

Too many extremes not enough thought. Far too much worry. Especially among those professing belief in God, Jesus Christ the Lord, and in God’s Word.

Moderation: from the Gerek:

Used only in one verse in God’s Word as in the King James Version.

In EVERY THING by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God.

Sadly, not only do few go to God and attempt to rise up to a higher, greater spiritual level than to bring God down to the base level of man, but in our times these requests are frequently self-centered and worldly motivated. I doubt seriously the Apostle Paul was advising, through the Holy Spirit working in him, that we should concentrate on worldly requests, or make those our focus and bulk of our coming before God in prayer. And if there is doubt or contention then all one need to do is finish reading those few verses in Philippians.

So few really think. So few really pay attention to words. So few really ever step out of their own shadow which they believe is the light of the world, the reason everything was created, and what they are doing is the most important tasks, jobs, endeavors on this earth to actually look around. Actually think. Actually act after thinking and prayer and contemplation. Too many speak God’s will themselves into their own minds and hearts because they can’t truly believe, truly commit, truly have the required faith, truly sacrifice if need be.

Especially in the very comfortable industrialized nations of this cesspool world going madder by the minute, sucking professed believers and unbelievers alike into the deadly drowning vortex of darkness.

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

I Thessalonians 2:12

If we have heard and answered the call it is not up to us as to when to hang up, or how the conversation should be directed. Not if we in our very minute and limited understanding have any understanding of the great glory of the One True Living God! That ye would walk worthy. Not sit idle. Not go backwards. Not recline. Not go in circles. Walk straight and walk worthy. Not according to man’s ideas and words, but according to God who has called those professing belief to direct ourselves to His kingdom and glory – and that kingdom is to come, and it is not of this earth as many false teachings are sucking millions more down the dark vortex would have one believe. Remember, Satan is a master of confusion. A master of cunning and beguiling beauty. In words especially. Most, even professed believers, attempt to take on the enemy themselves, thinking they can outwit and out master the prince of this earth. They only end up upon the heap. We have no real strength without God hands and wings upon us providing strength. We are nothing but dust. Mud pies with eyes. No match for the evil one on our own.

And if we think upon that which is true, that which is honest, that which is just…we would know that before ever venturing away from the Shepherd in need of being reproved and rescued with His rod and His staff.

Think. Think before acting.

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

Proverbs 10:8-9

v. prat·ed, prat·ing, prates
v.intr.To talk idly and at length; chatter. utter idly or to little purpose.
n.Empty, foolish, or trivial talk; idle chatter.
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
Proverbs 19:1

Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Proverbs 28: 18,26

The wise man’s eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.
Ecclesiastes 2:14

How much wisdom and truth is spoken? How much wisdom and truth is written? Discussed? Thought upon? Is there nothing but a deluge of perversity, of foolishness, of trivial pursuits!? Where is the wisdom? Where is the truth? Where is the contemplation and the walking upright and living the Living Word of God?
Where is there walking period!? Nothing but spinning in circles, spinning lies, treading in a rut being dug deeper into darkness away from any light.
Where is the thinking? Of things other than self and of this world?
Some have found it. Few, very few: Praise, glory, and honor to God for those who came from darkness into the Light, who finally heard, finally saw!

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
Isaiah 9:2

Time to read all of Matthew chapter 13. Time for the mystery and the mystical to come into one’s life and to come into our hearts  and out from the shadows of the wicked one! And do not recoil or run at the word “mystical” for it is not as the world and the forces of darkness have pervaded and invaded man’s mind to think about that word only in one context and definition. God is the most mystical Living Being in all creation, in all the heavens! Mystical in the sense of go down on to your knees, or lie prone, and do nothing – I mean NOTHING – but silently worship God. Praise God. Thank God. Honor God! Without thought of time, or tasks at hand, or the day, or the morrow. Only you. Only you because there is a God. Only you in worship serving the true purpose of man. Discover the truly mystical! As intended!

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which receiveth seed by the wayside.
But he that receiveth the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon (at once) with joy receiveth it;
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word by and by he is offended.
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
But he that receiveth seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Matthew 13:19-23

And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
Mark 4:19

We must not decide. We must live. Either with our concerns, our focus, our majority of time within our own hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits in this world, becoming carried away in its swirling, consuming, deadly winds…or we live according to the Living Word of God. Not to the best of our ability, but to the overflowing and limitless ability as given by the Holy Spirit if we would only not grieve the Holy Spirit and not grieve Christ the Lord and would put our hearts, minds, and spirits on Them and the Living Word of God. It is all about choice. Focus. Where we place our priorities. What we make our priorities. What we read. What we speak. Where we go. Who we know and associate with. What we watch. How we spend our time.

There is no perfection. We all stumble and mess up. I do countless times in any given day. We destroyed perfection some time ago and must come to terms there is no such thing as a “perfect Christian.” Only Christ was a perfect man. All else come far short. But we must strive. We must live through our choices to be more pleasing and acceptable unto God and not fall short time and time again. Forming a pattern of excuses followed by a pattern of asking for forgiveness followed by more of the same and on and on and on and on. Where is the spiritual growth? Where is the belief? Where is the fear and trembling and not doing things to grieve the Holy Spirit or the Lord?

We must abandon self. We must abandon ego. We must rise up towards God and not attempt to bring God down to our level.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

II Corinthians 4:3-7

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of this world is the enemy of God.

James 4:4

So many only concerning themselves with projecting an image. In order to be liked. Falsely loved. Neglecting God. Not even thinking upon God. Not even believing in God! Consumed with this world and being approved of, liked, and adored. Fleeting, empty so-called friendships. No real love at all. Emptiness and darkness. Always searching for more coming up empty, darker still.

Think before acting. But then act wisely. Do not remain idle, stationary. Walk towards the Lord and away from this world ending soon. Realizing what have you then gained? Is today enough? Is false adoration enough? Is false love enough? Are the lies and illusions enough? Is there more? Of course there is. We all know that. Some believe. Most refuse. Even in these last days most professing to believe walk in darkness and are under the false teachings of men and not living according to the Word of God.

Love not the world  neither the things that are in the world. If any man love this world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

I John 2:
